Childcare

AMAR PROVIDES CHILDCARE FACILITIES FOR CHILDREN UP TO THE AGE OF 15.

As part of our comprehensive education package, AMAR runs childcare facilities for the poorest families in society allowing their parents, especially mothers, the freedom to take part in crucial training sessions.  This gives them opportunities to go back to work and earn a decent income.

For many, childcare is often cost-prohibitive, meaning families are caught in a vicious circle of low income and poor future economic prospects. AMAR’s provision of childcare ensures people can break free of this economic trap. Children also benefit because those that attend classes are given a mixture of play-based and education-based activities which allow them the opportunity to both play with friends and to learn.

In some areas, AMAR’s childcare programme has evolved into a service for the wider community that supports training centres – parents pay a nominal fee for childcare that pays for the provision of vocational training at the connected centres. This has not only created financially self-sustaining vocational skills training centres but also provides affordable community-based childcare in a sustainable manner.
