We would like to wish you a peaceful and blessed Ramadan.
At this very special time of year, we are seeking donations to enable thousands of displaced Iraqis to make the most of this holy season.
Ramadan, one of the most important times in the Islamic Calendar, will be especially difficult in Iraq due to the current crisis. Islam follows the lunar calendar, and this year the holy month began on June 17th. During Ramadan, Muslims are required to abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to sunset every day for an entire month. Taking part in fasting is important as it is one of the five pillars of Islam and it is a time to further connect with your faith and reflect. At sundown, the breaking of the fast is a time for family and friends to come together and strengthen their bonds.
Many Iraqis have already suffered unimaginable hardship this past year. While those who are displaced struggle to provide food for their families year-round, this time of year is of particular importance as during Ramadan, food is essential to break the fast. It is essential that families have all they need.
Just $50 can feed a family of up to 8 people in Baghdad and Najaf for two weeks. These boxes will include: rice, lentils, oil, flour, milk, and much more.
Ramadan is a time for giving – a time to remember those in need. Every donation helps – no donation is too small. Please donate today! www.razoo.com/story/Amar-U-S-Ramadan-Appeal-2015
